You will explore professional pathways to become a physician, nurse, physician assistant, physical therapist, occupational therapist or hospital executive through hands-on skill development and simulation.

Course Details

Students will learn firsthand from GW physicians, nurses and researchers. Students will be immersed in a hands-on experiential curriculum and learn about clinical skills, infection control, neurological and respiratory systems and illnesses, teamwork in healthcare, emergency medicine and global disaster response.

This course is the foundation for the next generation of healthcare practitioners.

At GW this summer you will:

  • Earn 2 undergraduate GW credits
  • Work directly with top medical professionals including physicians, nurses and medical researchers
  • Examine healthcare case studies from various professional perspectives
  • Gain hands-on experience participating in wet lab medical experiments
  • Challenge yourself in top-of-the-line hands-on medical simulation
  • Visit healthcare organizations such as Kaiser Permanente Center for Total Heath, local hospitals, the Red Cross or World Health Organization
  • Meet students training to become physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals and see how they learn
